The scene when slaves line the city walls of Meereen and Daenerys’ champion Daario Naharis fights the champion of the city was filmed at the Klis Fortress.

MOSTAR, TRACES OF ORIENT

The trip takes us along the coast through the famous summer resorts along the Makarska Riviera to the fertile Neretva River Delta. Driving towards inland Bosnia and Herzegovina we reach Počitelj, a mysterious town with the old Ottoman-era fortress.
After a short break, we continue along the Neretva River valley to Mostar, ‘the window to the Orient’, and an important trade centre during the Ottoman rule. A guide will take us around the oriental part of the town, with the Old Bazaar full of lively shops and workshops; we will visit the mosque and a typical Turkish house and walk across the legendary Ottoman Bridge from the 16th century that the city was named after.
There will be time for lunch and a coffee in one of the numerous old restaurants and cafes along the river. We leave Mostar in the late afternoon and return over the Biokovo Mountain, which offers spectacular views of the coast and the islands of the Central Dalmatia.

In your free time, you can ride the town cable car to the top of Srđ, a hill offering the unforgettable view of the town and the Riviera, or you can have a meal in one of the numerous picturesque restaurants in the Old Town and have some fish and excellent wine from the Southern Dalmatia.
